Landatu Solar is an innovative Spanish company focused on the development of ground-mounted and floating support structures for photovoltaic installations. Its patented system significantly reduces logistics and installation costs compared to conventional solutions such as ballasted concrete mounts. The company also provides a proprietary software tool for the design of floating solar plants.
Founded in 2022, Landatu combines advanced engineering with a sustainable and modular approach to enable utility-scale solar deployment, both on land and over water.
Through our SC Venture strategy, Suma Capital supports Landatu Solar in scaling its industrial production, accelerating R&D, and driving its international expansion. The focus is on reinforcing Landatu’s innovation roadmap — including the evolution of its ‘Lamaru’ platform, the launch of new floating deflector systems like ‘Aquarack’, and the development of offshore solar pilots — while optimizing the sustainability and efficiency of operations.
Landatu Solar plays a strategic role in the energy transition by making solar more accessible, modular, and adaptable to diverse environments — including water surfaces with no land competition. Floating solar offers additional benefits: water naturally cools the panels, improving performance; it reduces evaporation and helps limit algal growth.
Its solutions cut emissions across the entire value chain, from manufacturing to deployment. By enabling floating solar in new geographies, Landatu supports SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), driving innovation for a net-zero future.
