Solatom has developed an innovative solar concentration system that can supply thermal energy to industrial processes, reaching a maximum temperature of 450ºC and a pressure of 30 bars.  This technology makes it possible to replace traditional natural gas or diesel boilers.

The mechanism consists of a complex system of mirrors that redirect the sun’s rays towards a tubular solution through which the material to be heated moves. The system is scalable and flexible, so that several modules can be linked simultaneously to adapt the circuit to the required size.

Thanks to Solatom’s cumulative steam boilers, the customer is able to reduce its energy costs significantly and avoids the emission of CO2 from part of its thermal processes. In addition, the integration of this solution does not require structural changes in the factory, as the process is easily adaptable to the customer’s operating conditions.

Impact

Firstly, its technology is a clear competitive substitute for fossil fuel-based boilers, so its implementation allows a severe reduction of carbon emissions by industrial companies during thermal processes, while obtaining a new source of completely clean energy.

On the other hand, its complex system of mirrors capable of adapting to the movement of the sun is a significant advance in infrastructure and energy efficiency.

Finally, the development of new storage technologies will make it possible to offer a completely innovative product portfolio with which to completely eliminate traditional gas boilers.
