Cubicup, a technology company specializing in comprehensive sustainable renovations, has closed a 2 million euro funding round led by Suma Capital through SC Climate Tech Ventures I, the early-stage investment fund that is part of its SC Venture strategy. Fondo Bolsa Social, a previous investor in the company, also participated in the round.
Founded in 2018 in Valencia, Cubicup has developed a comprehensive renovation model that combines design, technology, construction management, and sustainability into a single digitized process. The company currently operates in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and Málaga, has a team of more than 50 professionals, and maintains physical showrooms in each of these cities. Since its founding, it has renovated more than 800 homes, and so far in 2026, it has completed or is currently working on 110 projects.
Cubicup’s proposal addresses a structural need in the residential market. Spain has one of the oldest housing stocks in Europe and a significant need for energy-efficient renovations. At the same time, the renovation sector remains a highly fragmented market, with low levels of digitalization, a growing shortage of qualified professionals, and a customer experience often marked by uncertainty regarding costs, timelines, and execution.
Cubicup addresses this challenge through a proprietary methodology that provides customers with a single point of contact throughout the project, clearly defined budgets and timelines from the outset, digital tracking of each phase of the work, and greater transparency regarding the progress of the process. The company’s goal is to make home renovations a more controlled, predictable, and efficient experience. According to the company’s data, its methodology achieves an average accuracy of 95% in estimates and timelines and reduces completion times by approximately 30% compared to traditional processes.
This model is powered by Cubicup OS, the operational layer the company has built on top of its own processes to manage the entire renovation cycle, from client acquisition to after-sales service. It includes project management and internal operations dashboards with a proprietary workflow, on which Cubicup is deploying artificial intelligence agents specialized by function: BIM modeling and analysis, technical feasibility reports, interpretation of zoning regulations, and management of municipal procedures. Added to this are digital design tools, digital twins, online budgeting, and BIM technology to optimize material requirements and reduce waste during construction.
The investment will enable Cubicup to accelerate the development of Cubicup OS and its AI agents, strengthen its commercial and operational capabilities, and consolidate its position in the residential renovation market, while driving its growth in Spain and preparing for its entry into the major markets of Southern Europe. In addition, the company will recruit talent in technology, product, and business to support the scalability of its business model.
Sustainability is also an integral part of Cubicup’s business model, which measures the carbon footprint of its renovation projects and incorporates criteria for energy efficiency and material selection.
“Cubicup was founded to redefine the way home renovations are designed and executed. We want to offer customers a more transparent, secure, and predictable experience, using a methodology that integrates design, technology, and sustainability from the very beginning. Having Suma Capital as a partner gives us the support we need to continue growing and bring this model to new markets”, says Gabriel Cambra, founder and CEO of Cubicup.
“Cubicup aligns perfectly with our investment thesis focused on technological solutions capable of accelerating the transition toward a more efficient housing stock. The company operates in a broad, fragmented, and largely undigitized market, and has a unique model for scaling a new approach to designing and executing comprehensive renovations. Its offering also includes operational efficiency in a sector with a clear need for transformation,” says Xavier Sánchez, partner at Suma Capital.
For Suma Capital, the investment in Cubicup reinforces the strategy of SC Climate Tech Ventures I, which is aimed at supporting technology companies capable of accelerating the climate transition in strategic sectors of the economy. In this case, the investment makes it possible to influence the built environment, one of the areas with the greatest potential for transformation due to its impact on energy consumption, emissions, and the quality of the housing stock.
The investment, made through SC Climate Tech Ventures I, a fund specializing in early-stage investments that is part of Suma Capital’s SC Venture strategy, will enable Cubicup to strengthen the development of its technology platform, expand its geographic presence, and consolidate its comprehensive, efficient, and sustainable digital renovation model.
According to company data, Cubicup’s methodology achieves an average accuracy of 95% in budgeting and timelines and reduces delivery times by approximately 30% compared to traditional processes.
