Suma Capital successfully culminates its chapter in Homs Rentals, boosting its growth and sustainable leadership in the sector

Homs Rentals, a leading provider of machinery rental solutions for construction, rehabilitation, events and industrial applications, is entering a new phase of growth following the entry of the investment fund VGO Capital, after the exit of Suma Capital as minority shareholder.

Since 2018, Suma Capital has supported Homs Rentals through its SC Expansion strategy, fostering a phase of professionalization and sustained growth. Over this period, the company has more than quadrupled its turnover, approaching €40 million in 2024, and expanded its team from 100 to over 250 people. This growth has been achieved while maintaining operational profitability and balancing organic expansion with a diversification strategy. The latter included seven acquisitions, consolidating Homs Rentals as a key player in the machinery and equipment rental sector, with operations structured around four main divisions: Construction, Renovation, Events and Industry.

In parallel with its financial growth, Homs Rentals has become a pioneer in applying sustainability principles in a traditionally resource-intensive and low-professionalization sector. Its business model, based on shared asset usage, improves resource efficiency and reduces the need for equipment ownership. In addition, Homs Rentals has digitized all its operations, eliminating the use of paper in its processes and decarbonizing its operations by 46% in the last 4 years. Additionally, Homs Rentals has begun the progressive electrification of its fleet and implemented circular economy initiatives, reinforcing its position as a provider of sustainable and high-quality solutions with a low environmental impact.

With the investment from VGO Capital, a fund experienced in supporting the growth of leading European companies, Homs Rentals aims to accelerate its expansion and strengthen its position in Spain’s still-fragmented rental market. The founders, Vicenç and Marc Homs, will keep the shareholding control and will continue to lead the project in this new chapter. With this transaction, VGO Capital, which already holds several investments in Spain, reaffirms its interest in supporting entrepreneurs and mid-market companies in their growth and internationalization processes.

Through its SC Expansion strategy, Suma Capital has supported the transformation of Homs Rentals by professionalizing its structure, accelerating its growth and positioning it as a sustainability leader in a key industry.
