Aridditive brings together more than 120 professionals in Barcelona to discuss the future of construction driven by 3D printing

Additive, a company backed by Suma Capital that specializes in 3D concrete printing for architecture, interior design, and urban planning, brought together more than 120 professionals from the fields of architecture, construction, design, and landscaping on May 28 in Barcelona for the event “The Printed City: How 3D Printing Is Changing the Way We Build and Live”.

The event was held at Sutton Barcelona, a space that has become a pioneering example of large-scale 3D concrete printing. The comprehensive renovation of the venue was carried out by Construnext and Additive, which handled the design and 3D-printed fabrication of more than 300 functional elements integrated into the project. This solution significantly reduced construction time and material consumption compared to conventional building processes.

The meeting brought together representatives from Aridditive, Construnext, DPoch Design, and Sutton Barcelona to share experiences and discuss the potential of digital fabrication to improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and expand design possibilities in architectural and interior design projects.

The event comes at a time of high visibility for the firm. On May 27, Aridditive was recognized in Barcelona at the 19th edition of the EmprendeXXI Awards, an awards program sponsored by ENISA and CaixaBank through DayOne. The company was selected among the winning startups in the “Future Challenges” category.

Aridditive is part of Suma Capital’s portfolio through SC Venture, the climate technology strategy that supports innovative solutions to accelerate decarbonization and contribute to a more efficient use of resources.

With projects in various European markets, the firm will continue to focus on digital fabrication as a tool to promote more sustainable construction that is adapted to the sector’s evolving needs.

The event “The Printed City” transformed Sutton Barcelona into a space for reflection on how new technologies are reshaping the design, construction and renovation of spaces.

The company, backed by Suma Capital and BeAble, was recently recognised at the 19th edition of the Premios EmprendeXXI in the Challenges of Tomorrow category.

Aridditive is part of Suma Capital’s portfolio through its SC Venture strategy, which supports innovative solutions aimed at accelerating decarbonisation and contributing to a more efficient use of resources.
