Suma Capital participates as a strategic partner in the innovative and pioneering Pro-Bono Private Equity programme, promoted by the AYO Foundation and Attalea Partners, which aims to connect companies with high social impact with relevant players in the Private Equity market.
Pro-Bono Private Equity also counts with the participation, among its partners, of reference entities such as the PE association SpainCap, which brings together Venture Capital and Private Equity players in Spain. This programme will channel the professional advisory needs of entities with a social impact to private equity market players who, on a pro-bono basis, offer support to strengthen the entity, generate a robust business model or shape an investment project.
The launch of the programme follows the success of a pilot launched at the end of 2021 where Suma Capital advised the startup NUWE.
NUWE is a video game-based recruitment platform that aims to reduce the talent shortage in the technology sector and democratise access to talent. This is achieved through a disruptive gamification assessment process that focuses on identifying and assessing candidates’ skills. Prioritising skills and knowledge rather than diplomas and schools of reference makes it possible to recruit talented candidates from different economic backgrounds.
For 6 months, NUWE received support from Suma Capital to improve its business plan and financial projections, as well as its communication and investment pitch. After the pilot test, Suma Capital maintains and will extend its collaboration with NUWE to continue contributing to the growth of the business fabric with a social and sustainable aspect.
New entities will join Pro-Bono Private Equity over the course of 2022 to advise and promote social projects and entities, previously selected by Fundación AYO and its programme to support social entrepreneurship.
